Well everybody, I'm here. Because of the day change I never got to experience Monday January 14th. So I hope everybody is having a great day. I had a very intereseting conversation with a 6 year old on the plane to Auckland. For my former co-workers at bush lake, this may sound somewhat similair to this past summer. The boy was as hyper as can be and loved asking me as many questions as he could think of. "What's your favorite: chicken or noodles?" "What's your favorite: noodles or choped lamp?" What's your favorite: noodles or rooster?" Later into the flight, he asked me, "Do you have any sons?" And I replied by laughing and saying no. Then he asked, "are you married?" Once again, I said no. After I said this, he turns to his 13 year old sister sitting on the other side of me and says, "wanna marry her?" I said, I need to get to know her first. Then he points to a lady that was so old she might've been present for the signing of the declaration of independence. So I simply said no. All this while I'm laughing pretty hard and his parents are about 3 seats to my left rolling their eyes, along with uncomfortable laughs. But I thought it was all so funny.
Last thought before I go. This has been a whole lot harder of trip then I first thought. Please keep me in your prayers. I can remember praying months ago and asking God to stretch me and bring me closer to Him during this trip. Well He is definitely streching me and things have been a little rough thus far. But I'm holding onto Isaiah 40:27-31. Thanks for the prayers guys. I love and miss you all SO much right now. I really mean it. Peace in da middle east.

That's a great story Dave. Kids are so funny. Like the kids at the bowling alley the other night. Anyway, we're still praying for you.

P.S. Alfred Crotchcock is a d-bag.
have fun dave remember although it will be a tough journey at times, its still a trip of a life time. All the experiences you'll have on this trip all the people you'll meet everything you do you'll remember for the rest of you're life so enjoy it to the max. And maybe one day when you see st.peter at the pearly gates there will ne a line of all the lives you touched and lead to christ, and they will thank you that you went to new Zealand and that you took your time to talk to them and to lead them to the father. Its a chance few people get so embrace it, its a journey you'll never forget.

Hang in there Dave!!! I'm glad you got there safely! Were all praying for you.

dave! glad to hear you made it safely. don't marry any 13 or 113 year olds. ever.
also, don't forget how strong you are for taking this chance to let God do whatever he wants to do to you. some people never take that chance and never become the person God intended them to be. keep at it! we are praying for you.

Hey Dave! Here's the number of the girl named Gemma who lives in Christ Church- 00 64 3 359 2922. She was my DTS leader and is amazing-truly a woman of God in love with Jesus! I sent her a message that you might be calling her when you get into Christ Church!
Also Dave, know we are praying for you, and you are in our thoughts! I read your blog and was praying for you, and I felt like I needed to share this with you. You're mom said you don't check your email... so i'm sorry I have to write on here. So... As you might have funny stories to tell, and a wonderful experience, know that things might change (I hope not), but know even if they do we believe in you to push through, and EMBRACE IT- and that means yelling at God, and going through all the emotions of not wanting to be there... live that out, because God is so proud of you, and he is smiling down at your decision to follow what He has for you! Also, know nothing has changed here, we are still doing the same old boring routine. Just let Jesus love on and love on you!- Read Isaiah 55 if you have time.
We are so proud of you Dave, and we love you and miss you SO much! Hold on CUZ- approx. 39 days left! =) =) =)
dave i'm so excited for what lies ahead for you! i remember when i was in argi, and the first week was a little rough... because i thought of home and people i missed... and then i thought that they were always going to be there and that the same BK sunday was there and the same "family" things would be there the next week or next month. and i realized that as i was in arginitina, experiencing crazy new things, or just reading a book on a hill, life went on as normal at home and when i got back, it would all be the same and i would have all these life changing times! so when your riding a bus or reading a book, remember we are doing the same thing at home, and you are in NEW Z and doing something that we will never do there!!!!
also that maybe some times its not about "your" trip, but about who you are meeting and how youre impacting someone else!! maybe this trip is becasue you are planting "seeds" all along NZ and its all about praying your way through the country! God is so amazing and he will do the inconceivable! who knows?? god knows and i want wait to hear what He shows you!!!! we are praying for you every day!!!! LOVE YA CUZ!!! annie
You talking to a little kid and having a bunch of fun...hmmm...who would've imagined...who you kidding? Praying for you! Sometimes you gotta experience a little rain in order to see the rainbow...and I know how much you like rainbows...or was that twirling? Any who, much love and you are missed and covered in prayers!
-Jeremy
We're praying for you. Post a picture when you get a chance. I'd love to see some of what you're seeing.
Wavey Davey - Who knew that nickname would be prophetic - rolling like a wave across the world, making a difference in the life of each person you meet! I sent the below to your email, but then I read on your blog that you're not checking your email, so here it is below:
First, I never got your email about you leaving and only found out you had left after you had left! I knew you were taking this trip but with kids back home and Matt’s wedding, I forgot how soon you were leaving after the wedding. I am soooo sorry!!! But…I am praying for you now and believing God for GREAT, GREAT things for you! It thrills me to know that the purpose you had in taking this trip is for you to draw closer to our Lord. My prayer is that when you return to the US you will have a much greater clarity in hearing the voice of our Lord than you do now. It will come with a cost! But it will be so worth it!!!
Take advantage of EVERY hard situation. Cry out to God. Run into His arms. Trust only in Him! Seek him as you eat, as you walk, as you sleep. When you are lonely, tell Him – and receive His comfort. When you are tired, tell Him – and receive His rest. When you don’t know where to go next, tell Him – and receive His peace and direction. Talk/sing to Him whenever you can – even when it is hard – ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS HARD. Remember, God called you to this, and you said yes, “send me.” You are in the palm of His hand! Nothing will happen that God doesn’t have planned for you and won’t use for your good and to His glory!
Your name is on our fridge. When you need someone to intercede for you, ask the Holy Spirit to nudge me. I will be obedient!
I love you Dave! May you experience the Sonshine today! (By the way, how is the weather?) I'll write soon!

yo yo bro. just been in aroba for the past 8 days or so. it's been a blast and me and sarah are laughing alot and enjoying eachother more and more. I hear you're having a tough time so far. well, it's nothing to worry about bro. perfectly normal thing to experience for someone in your situation. most people aren't home sick for more than a week or two. so figure by next weekend you'll be having the time of your life. for now try to do only some things that remind you of home, and other things that you've never done before... like kiss a boy (unless you've already done that).
can't wait to see all your pics and show you ours.
you need to call me soon though. i want to tell you something. i'll be home late friday night. so call me sometime this weekend. or lets figure out a way for me to call you if it's cheaper. i'll talk to dad.
so, what you got planned for tom? do the internet cafe comps have aim or messenger? i'll be on often and looking for you if they do. any basketball courts there? automatic could have some trouble with the altitude...
Dude ya, there's iguanas everywhere here. some small, small as big as your arm (which isn't very big but still). One tried to climb on the chair sarah was sitting in and she starting freakin' everyone around laughed. i cracked a smile, or fell on the ground laughing. sorry this blog is kinda all over the place. but ya, rented a jeep and did some horseback riding. we went to a natural pool where we went cliff jumping off a huge monstrous TEN foot humungous cliff :)
well lets talk this weekend and try to not think about home and really push yourself. i've been there dude. rememeber, this is something you wanted and chose to do... so accept it and enjoy it. i honestly wish i could be there too. ok, i'm booking a flight, i'm in, skahen train roles through auckland and the bball competition of the south pacific.
love ya bro, ttys
matt
You Rock!
You're all prayed up so go gettem.
If you have trouble finding a hostel and need to get out of the weather for the night, try sleeping under bridges. It has kept me dry many nights and no one knows you're there.
Commander Tony
So I talked to my friend Gemma and she said she would love to meet up with you, tell you of good churches, or whatever you need, sometimes you just need a contact, so you can just keep her number in case of an emergency. Also, she gave me her cell and different numbers depending on where you are calling from. So here you go..."if he's in nz then my home number is 03 359 2922, from auckland, or if he's in christchurch then just 359 2922. And my cell is 027 6356 596."
Hope you're having a blast, and got to Christchurch safely!
Dave, Hang in there man. it may be rough at first but you've always been able to find the silver lining in any situation. God is going to show you so much, be ready to see it. By the way...
YOU'RE A BEAST!!
Sooo glad you are home! BK next Sunday will be awesome! Let us know if you are planning to be there. Until then...you da man!
